An introduction to conceptual menswear
A reference to the 1700s Macaroni trend, the look was recreated through the interpretation of gender dressing. During the 18th Century, the ‘Macaroni’ appropriate traditional constructions of menswear costumes to embrace the essence of the ‘effeminate’ men, aims towards tearing down the social construct of gender dressing.
The look compromise of lace trim cotton shirt, pairs with the reinvented ‘Skort’ (skirt + short) and a Velvet Cotton Blue corset with lace-ups. Along with the experimental highlight piece of Canvas Vest that was a bond between Bridal lace and Organza. The subject of fragility, masculinity vs femininity and gender identity constantly carry out through collaborations between Tailoring techniques and Bridal features.
